We here at Highlawn wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, we had a wonderful group of guests for our big Thanksgiving spread and will have the desert table up for the rest of the weekend.
Earlier this week we had to say goodbye to our wonderful Tuxedo Kitty Chico who has been a visible presence at the Inn for the past 14 years. He was a great kitty and the guests just loved him, he will be sorely missed.
Berkeley Springs has plenty to do and see this weekend should you wish to do so.On Friday evening at 7:30 at the Ice House is the 4th annual Roots Music Concert hosted by John Douglas. Almost all new faces and a playlist ranging from 19th century to bluegrass, blues and original music.Also on Friday evening at 7:30pm, the Morgan County Observatory has a star party to admire the winter sky.The Star Theatre has their own star party with one 8pm showing all weekend of the hit movie “Gravity” staring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.
On Saturday from 10am to 4pm, the BUY LOCAL excitement is at the Ice House where free admission for the 2nd annual Berkeley Springs Book Festival offers more than more than 20 local and regional authors selling nearly 100 titles in genres from mysteries, history and general fiction and many more.
