The kids are back in school and Berkeley Springs is still a great place for a one or two night getaway. Cacapon State Park has great hiking trails and one of the best golf course layouts in the Mid-Atlantic area a Robert Trent Jones design. Berkeley Springs has great shopping and several wonderful spas with Atasia our favorite and also great dining with several wonderful restaurants with Tari’s Cafe our favorite.
Berkeley Springs always has music and this weekend is the 50th annual event welcoming Patsy Cline Fan Clubs from around the world. The place is the Troubadour Lounge the home of the West Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame. There will be many live bands and musicians from Nashville including Charlie Dick Patsy’s husband. New members will be inducted on Sunday. The Fairfax Coffee House has Johnny Robinson and the Last Chance show on Saturday evening at 7pm. The Earth Dog Cafe has local singer Kate Evans on Saturday at 7:30. The Star Movie Theatre has spy comedy “Reds 2″ all weekend long one showing at 8pm. The Frog Valley Artisans offer a fused glass class on Saturday afternoon from 2-4pm. Don’t miss the Berkeley Springs Farmers Market on you way home Sunday downtown from 10-2pm.
